Synthesized Speech Ringtones

  • April 19th, 2005

Think of HAL from 2001 and Alfred from Batman, and your not to far away from the Speaking ringtones I created for my Vodafone 802se. If you have MP3 playback on your phone and can set your ringtone and alarm tones (and others if you have a smartphone), then you should def. take a listen to these.

I think computerized voices are super cool and ever since WarGames, I have been hooked. You know that vocoder thing Daft Punk did for Musique back in the day? Now all the usual pop suspects have done it from Madonna (to Cher even, blah!), oh well. You can’t taint a great thing like this.

Now on to the technical details, I used the ATT Bell Labs speech demo web page. You can enter in ANY text and it spits out a WAV file, you save to your desktop, and then bring it into iTunes, convert to MP3 and then beam thru Bluetooth the your phone.
